About Us
WELCOME MESSAGE FROM ALASDAIR
We are a church because we want to worship God. We believe that in the Bible God has left us with directions on how to live our lives and because of that we study it together, both in small groups, community groups and in the Sunday worship services.
We believe that the Bible (the Old and New Testament) is the ultimate rule and standard of faith given by the inspiration of God and containing all things necessary for salvation.

Serving In Our Community
The church is a family, adopted as sons and daughters of God. Therefore, we are living in this world as brothers and sisters, not merely acquaintances who happen to worship in the same building.
Road to Recovery
This group is a support group for those who have an addiction problem or for those who live with someone with an addiction.
Partnering with Parents
As a church we want to support parents to be confident in Biblical authority, committed to leading their children to a living and personal faith in Jesus.
Living with Loss
At Smithton Church we’d like to offer the opportunity to share experiences with others who have felt the pain of loss. For many this can be a positive experience.
Hope Explored
Looking at the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in Luke’s Gospel in three sessions.
Our Vision
Our Mission
To see this become a reality the eldership examined what this vision means for the leadership, the congregation and the community and city.
The Eldership
The elders set the culture of the congregation. Rarely will a congregation advance beyond the spirituality and leadership shown by its leaders. As an eldership we commit to care, prayer and learning.
The congregation
Care, prayer and learning form the core features of a congregation whose vision is ‘Knowing Jesus and making Jesus known’. We will facilitate a range of ongoing equipping and encouraging
The Community, The City and Beyond
Already over 15,000 people in the eastern part of the city have no live connection with the church. With proposed developments at Stratton and Ashton, that figure will increase significantly.

What we believe
We believe that the Bible (the Old and New Testament) is the ultimate rule and standard of faith given by the inspiration of God and containing all things necessary for salvation.
01
We believe in God the Father, creator of heaven and earth; Jesus Christ the Son of God; and the Holy Spirit. Gen1:1; Matt 28:19
02
We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried and, in body, rose again on the third day. 1 Cor 15:1-4
03
We believe that God loved the world so much that he sent his Son Jesus to die on the cross to save us from our sins so that if we believe in him we have eternal life with Him. John 3:16
04
We believe the only way to have an eternal relationship with God is through Jesus. Jesus said “I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
